Declaring IN10 offence on licence for car insurance
From receiving an IN10 ticket for no insurance whilst driving, at what point does it go on your licence and therefore have to be declared to my insurance? I know you have 7 days to hand in your licence and 28 days to pay the fine.
IN10 recieved on 06-04-10 new insurance taken out WITHOUT IN10 on evening of 06-04-10 pulled over and done for 2nd time on 08-04-10 policy taken out WITH IN10 on 08-04-10 (to get my seized car back) IN10 ticket handed into police station and fine paid after getting my car back but within the period written on the IN10 ticket about (11-04-10)

4 year from date of offence (ie charged) for points to come off your licence but you have to declare them for 5 year from date of conviction. I did and got quotes of 2300 for 2 in10 offences the points came off my licence after 4 year but i had to declare them as the 5 year term had not expired. However I did find a insurance company called aviva and got insured for 1200 so if your stuck try them.
This is exactly what is happenening with us at the minute. My partners mum was sorting the insurance out at the time, and instead of putting 02/12/2008 she put 20/12/2008 obviously meaning no insurance he was pulled over on the 19/12/2008 and given a IN10, he went to court paid the reduced rate after the court had heard what happened. He had to retake his test and theory. Now on the 06/06/2012 someone crashed into the back of his van, he didn't know that he still had to declare the IN10 as it is not on his paper driving licence anymore, so Zenith insurance have said his claim is disregarded due to not declaring it. Any ideas what we can do?
I got an IN10 in whilst driving my car 6/12/10. I then have had malicious damage done to my works van and am currently claiming on my insurance. I had not told them of my IN10 as it wasn't on that vehicle (and to be honest I forgot) - they are now requesting further details of it before my claim on van goes through. I havent heard anything back yet but was just wondering if they could refuse to pay out on my van?
I crashed a car in 2008 when I had a provisional and I got 9 points on this licence then passed my test and points carried foward to my full uk lisence. I have CD10 in10 and lc20 and best price for a vtr 1.6 is 2226 which isn't too bad just wondering if anyone knows any cheaper websites
I cannot believe you are so forthcoming and almost proud to ask this Question, I pay an ever increasing insurance premium year on year because of stupid little knobheads like you driving with no insurance. I hope your parents are proud of you!!!!
Hey I got an IN10 on the 13/04/07 so this year of course they are due to come off, though what I would like to know is why do i have to declare them to any inurance company if my license is now clean and therefore the insurance company have now no trace of my convictions.(CONFUSED) thanks.
need help why do you have to declare stuff if they come off your license; no one is perfect and it don't make you a bad driver
I have a BA10 2006, A TT99 2007, an IN10 2007, an IN10 2009. I cannot find a single insurance company who will insure me as I'm looking for Motor Trade Policy, Tradex have quoted me £5500 for this. Others have said £3000 when the BA10 comes off and I'm 26. I'm willing to pay £3500 but for god sake if you won't insure me, I will have another in10 next yearrrr!!!!! I have not been speeding, red lighting, killing, drinking, robbing, driving dangerously but yes I got refused insurance and drove when I really had to and got bloody caught cause you can't move in london without a police car watching you every 5 mins. anyone know what or who will insure me because I need this and am not gonna be un-employed in this recession full times where there are hardly any jobs out there.
If you have not been convicted of the offence it is known as pending and you don't have to declare it. You only need to declare CONVICTIONS.
You will not need to disclose this conviction unless they ask whether you have any pending convictions.
Dude, I am in the same situation. I got pulled over by the cops yesterday. Now I want to get my car back form the car pound. Do I need to declare to the insurers about my IN10, as I still have 7 - 28 days to be convicted? Also, Do I need to tell the insurers when I take the insurance that I need to get the car out of the car pound? URGENT answers requested please?
To get the car back from the impound, the insurance company will need to be aware of the Impending IN10, it's under the Impending Convictions section. And you will now need to inform your insurance company that you are actually collecting a seized vehicle!! Also, if you took out insurance on the 8/4/10, and presumably had that insurance on you when you went to the police station for them to release your car before the pound would release it to you, what inacuracies were there for them to declare that you were driving illegally?
In the evening of the 6th of April 2010, you took out an insurance policy, then why were you pulled over a second time for driving without insurance? I may not have read it right but it looks confusing to me, so can you elaborate on that? As far as when the IN10 conviction goes onto your driving licence, it is from the date of the offence. So it would be on the 6th of April 2010 and you would need to declare it to your insurer as soon as you are convicted. Any changes to your current circumstances need to be reported to your insurer so that they can adjust the premiums (in your case your premiums would increase but in other circumstances it may decrease if for example you go live in a lower crime zone area).
What if i get pulled over for no insurance but the police officer issues the wrong code and fixed penalty notice for driving with no insurance, put N110 on penalty note IN10
