Went for detox in hospital and now DVLA is treating me like a drink driver

After a detox in hospital I am being treated by DVLA like a DD, although I have never had a motoring indictment in 50 years!!. Anybody else suffered from this??

I appear to require the same medical tests results as a convicted drunk driver, despite having a pristine driving record.

I have just been in hospital for a Detox. DVLA have told me that because of this I must surrender my License for a 3 year period. I have never had a motoring conviction. It's wrong that people should be treated as if they were a Drink Driver.
