Do I have to pay an additional £75 to rent my instructor's car for my test?

I have paid £62 for my driving test but on the last day of my driving lessons my instructor with AA told me I had to pay £75 for renting the car & his time an hour before the test is that right?

Some instructors have to book of their diary for two hours but may be two and a half - even over three. Depends where the test is in terms of distance. Some charge a higher rate then the hourly rate. Some charge a fixed rate for the use of their car on test day. £70 - £75 seems ok. Some are charging £120 test day!!!
Usually, when you've had driving lessons with an instructor, you can take his car for the driving test and pay him the equivalent of an hour's lesson. Many instructors will advise that you have a 1 hour lesson to warm up before your test and the next hour is for the practical test and this way you end up paying your instructor for 2 hours worth of lessons. So if your instructor charges £23 per 1 hr lesson, you only have to pay £46 in total.
You don't really pay for renting the car as such but pay in terms of hourly lessons if that makes sense.
