I have just received a driving ban. Do I still have to pay the insurance premiums although I don't need it anymore now?

When you take out a car insurance policy, you are legally bound to a contract with the insurance company. Whether you have paid in full or you are paying the premiums in monthly installments, you will still need to honour your part of the contract which is to settle the full amount for the insurance cover as you are solely responsible for getting into a situation like this, which is, not being able (or allowed) to drive.
Some insurance companies may be willing to cancel your policy under these circumstances and may charge you an administrative or penalty fee for doing so. You will need to check with your own insurance company to know for sure though.
