When it comes to starting a family, most people have paid off debts such as their car loan. So it would make sense to stick with the car that they have for a while before having the burden of buying a new car just because of difficulties regarding a car seat. There is no way of really knowing which car seat is best for your car as what might work for one family may not be suitable for yours. Budget and practicality will also play a part in what type of car seat is most suitable for your car.

Most retailers who sell car seats will be able to advise you as they have sold millions to many customers just like you and people who do not have the most suitable family friendly car. A family friendly car is a car that ideally has 4 doors so you don’t have to constantly fold the front seats to access the seats at the back and having 4 doors means you can easily get in and take out your car seat with minimal fuss and less chances of bumping the car seat.

The only way to find out what car seat is best suited for your car is trial and error. When you see one that you like, go to a retailer that will fit it for free to see how it fits and how comfortable you are and make sure it’s safe and secure. Most people are abandoning car seats that require the 3 point seatbelt system to hold it in place. The safest and most secure way is to buy a car seat that has ISOFIX points so it clicks into place effortlessly. Many people still do not know how to securely fasten a car seat and this can cause fatalities if there was a car accident.

Many new cars since 2002 now have ISOFIX points in the rear seats; car seats that are compatible have a sound and light confirmation to ensure it has been correctly installed meaning there is little room for error. People who have cars with only two doors are also opting for ISOFIX bases that are compatible with their car seat of choice. It means the base is always in the car and only the car seat is taken in and out of the car. It saves time trying to squeeze in the back and fiddling with the seat belt.  Some bases will also be compatible with toddler car seats as the child outgrows the infant car seat meaning it’s a worthwhile investment for those with smaller cars.
