Fix It Pro Scratch Repair Pen Review
No matter how careful you are with your vehicle, at some point or the other, you will start to notice scratches appearing on the paintwork. It could be when you were parked at the supermarket to do your shopping, someone opened their vehicle’s door a bit too far and that caused one of your front doors to be scratched in the middle. For me, the worst part of my car was around the door handle area and I guess a lot of people have the same problem as it’s the place where you put your keys in and it is so easy for the keys to rub onto the surface and leave a nasty scuff.
So I came across this magic solution which is supposedly very effective in removing light scratches. It’s called the Fix It Pro Pen and you can grab one for less than £1 on eBay. It comes with 2 tips and is very easy to use.
Instructions on how to use the scratch remover pen
- First clean and dry the area you’ll be working on
- Give the pen a good shake
- Remove the cap on the pen and take one of the tips and insert it into the pen with the pointed side down
- Press and release the tip onto a horizontal surface (eg your front bumper) to allow the solution to flow down. Do that until you can see the tip is wet.
- Now you’re ready to cover up your scratches – work your way along the scratch and remove any excess solution with a dry paper towel
My personal experience
I've watched the official video for the scratch remover pen and they make it look so effective. However, I did not have any luck with it. I've tried it on minor scratches as well as those which are a bit deeper but all my efforts were in vain.

For very light scratches, this can work but for the rest, it’s a waste of time. Since this is a clear solution, it can be used on any vehicle’s colour; mine was light gold. However, when you try to wipe off the excess, you end up clearing away all of the transparent coating as it’s difficult to just remove part of it. It could very well be that different vehicle colours will get different results and since they tested it on a dark blue colour in their commercial, that might be the best colour for it to work as expected.
The pen can reduce the visibility of some scratches and it’s worth noting sunlight is needed for the coating to dry. The company, Simoniz, do mention it can take from 1 hour to 2 days for the results to become apparent but some people have reported the coating gets removed when washing their cars.
All in all, you can’t expect much for a pound (£1) and if you’re looking for a cheap way to fix minor scratches, then go for it, otherwise you may need to invest a little bit more for better results.

Hi, I have got to state, I enjoy your website. The colours, the layout, the overall theme, all of them move correctly together. Anyway, that's all I really needed to say.
